Niels Bohr

Niels Henrik David Bohr (Danish pronunciation: [ˈnels ˈboɐ̯ˀ]; 7 October 1885 – 18 November 1962)[1] was a Danish physicist who made foundational contributions to understanding atomic structure and quantum mechanics, for which he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922.[2] He developed the model of the atom with the nucleus at the center and electrons spinning around it, which he compared to the planets spinning around the sun. He worked on the idea in quantum mechanics that electrons move from one energy level to another in discrete steps, not continuously. Bohr mentored and collaborated with many of the top physicists of the century at his institute in Copenhagen. He was part of the British team of physicists working on theManhattan Project. Bohr married Margrethe Nørlund in 1912, and one of their sons, Aage Bohr, was also a physicist and in 1975 also received the Nobel Prize. Bohr has been described as one of the most influential scientists of the 20th century.[3]

Niels Henrik David Bohr (n. 7 octombrie 1885, Copenhaga - d. 18 noiembrie 1962), fizician danez de origine evreiască (din partea mamei), care a avut contribuții esențiale la înțelegerea structurii atomice și a mecanicii cuantice. Niels Bohr a fost profesor de fizică și directorul Institutului de Fizică Teoretică din Copenhaga. A fost autorul modelului atomic care îi poartă numele. A adaptat teoria cuantică la studiul structurii atomice și s-a preocupat de cercetări de fizică nucleară. Pentru contribuțiile sale fundamentale, Bohr a fost laureat al Premiului Nobel pentru Fizică în 1922. Fiul său, Aage Niels Bohr a primit premiul Nobel în 1975 pentru cercetările sale, iar fratele, Harald Bohr, a fost un cunoscut matematician.
De aici nu mai urmează nimic. Dar, interesant detaliu, anonimul autor al textului românesc a ținut să precizeze că Bohr se trage dintr-o mamă evreică. Asta explică multe. Nu despre Bohr, ci despre strămoșeștile obsesii ale românului!
